Artist's Statement
As a sculptor and maker, I focus on storytelling through object and material relationships, form, physical experiences, and place-making. I create artworks about geologic processes as personal and social metaphors, obscure moments, ideas of play, and many other things. Being raised by a single-mom who was and still is a “country-rustic” antique dealer I spent most weekends visiting tag sale, after barn sale, after estate sale. Therefore, I am often drawn to the history and provenance of objects and materials, taking inspiration from their idiosyncrasies.
