Artist's Statement
The Heroic series came about after feeling like the world is systematically being stripped of color. Color is the truest form of pure emotion and expression. The contrasting juxtapositions of similar or opposing hues generate a distinctive structure allowing for limitless variation. My intention with the large brushstrokes that envelop the color fields is to evoke both movement and atmosphere.
The fearless endeavors of classical era mythology have become my own struggle, representing an ultimate quest to develop an artistic language that conveys unified truths in an increasingly fragmented world. I find great power in subtlety which allows for an increased sense of mystery and complexity. I am searching for a window to the beyond where vibrant colors halt your gaze and transcend ordinary perception. My aim is to relinquish everything extraneous in order to convey a sense of timeless significance.
