Statement:
I have a fascination with transparency, transformation, and pushing materials to transcend their conventional limits. Glass in particular has become a central medium, allowing me to explore the malleability of solid states and create unusual, gravity-defying forms through kiln-working techniques.
My process is investigative, rooted in experimental "what if" scenarios that combine glass with ceramic or steel elements. I am intrigued by the heat and metamorphic potential of these materials, discovering new possibilities by coaxing them into unconventional marriages.
I’ve developed a sort of language of shapes that are influenced by the landscape around me, but more often on my interior landscape. I’m enticed by symmetry, and this has become an organizing principle, lending a corporeal, humanistic quality.
